There’s one place that’s a must for me whenever I come to Toronto. It was introduced to me by my uncle a while back and it’s become a staple. Located at the bottom of St. Lawrence Market, Uno Mustachio is an Italian fast food stall that serves up sandwiches – including my favourite veal and eggplant parmigiana.
The sandwich starts with a big kaiser bun where you can add tomato sauce, roasted jalapeno peppers, roasted red peppers, sauteed onions and sauteed mushrooms (you’ll want to add all of them ,if you were wondering). Veal Eggplant costs $9.75 but it’s a large sandwich and totally worth it. The breaded eggplant and chicken are flattened but quite crispy. It’s not too dry but not at all greasy.
This hefty sandwich is always a must for me if I’m in the area, no matter what time of day.
