Cornucopia is one of our favourite events of the year – not only is it a great time to visit beautiful Whistler, but because we get to brush up on our knowledge of wine and spirits.
Cornucopia runs from November 9 through 19, with over 70 events throughout the two weeks.
Some events we have our eyes on include:
Mekong: Fine Thai Cuisine & Meyer Family Estate Wines
Located in the heart of Creekside Village, Mekong Fine Thai Cuisine is Whistler’s newest restaurant, first opening its doors to the public in July. The restaurant is joining the Cornucopia lineup with a new winery dinner event on November 10 featuring a thoughtfully curated menu that pays tribute to Thai culinary traditions with wine pairings from Jak Meyer of Meyer Family Vineyards.
Blanc Canvas
Blanc Canvas offers event attendees the chance to unleash their inner artist. Taking place on November 11 at the Audain Art Museum, this new event features an evening of painting led by acclaimed Canadian artist, Fran Alexander, while sipping wine and savouring canapés.
Taste of Indigenous Worlds
Taking place on November 12 at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC), this new event brings together six Indigenous chefs from across British Columbia who will showcase traditional cooking and ingredients paired with modern twists. Attendees will be able to wander through the stunning galleries of the SLCC while sampling small plates paired with sample-sized beverages.
Drag Me to Brunch
A new addition to the Cornucopia schedule last year, Drag Me to Brunch returns November 12 to the Whistler Conference Centre. This Signature Event will be hosted by Gia Metric, from Canada’s Drag Race (season 2), along with Genesis and Bibi SouPhresh. Attendees will enjoy mimosas and a buffet of classic brunch fare while being entertained by Canada’s most loved drag queens.
Culinary Stage Series
And of course, we always love checking out what’s happening at the culinary stages – which is similar to a live cooking show but being able to taste the food with drink pairings! This year features some great chefs including Julian Bond, Alana Maas, Luis Valenzuela and Robert Clark.
