It couldn’t be any better timing that our trip to Orlando coincides with the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. This festival runs from September 27th  to November 11th. Throughout the World Show Case area of Epcot, you can visit a multitude of stands that offer fare from different parts of the world.

Some of the menu items are little bit predictable but some are quite inspiring. Unluckily for me, coming from such a diverse city full of great eats, I couldn’t say I was too excited about some of the menu offerings.


However, that being said I was thankful that the Canadian booth didn’t offer maple syrup and poutine but more refined items like Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon, Seared Rainbow Trout (yes, with maple vinaigrette) and Canadian Cheddar Cheese soup. All the tasting menus are affordably priced, with most being about $3-7 for a plate.



I got to try the Chicken Gyro and the Greek Platter (grilled and marinated calamari, eggplant dip, olives and pita). The portions are ‘tasting’ portions, so if you’re looking for a full meal, you’ll have to stock up and try everything around the world, but if you’re feeling peckish and don’t want to spend a fortune, this is perfect.

In addition to these, there are wine pairings you can order and also beer stations. You can also pick up a passport and collect stamps along the way.

There are also Cooking demos and classes you can take, and while you’re at the park you can enjoy the attractions and rides as well. Don’t forget to stay right up till the park closes to experience Iluminations, the best places to watch it is right around the lake – near the ‘Mexico’ area is the best.
