On your way up the Sea to Sky and onwards to Whistler, there is a place that comes highly recommended for its mixture of fried chicken and Mexican food.

A recent relaxation trip brought me up this way and I thought that before relaxing at the Scandinave Spa, it would make absolutely sense to fill myself with greasy goodness (what, you don’t do that?).

I ordered a chimichanga and a piece of chicken, as it was important to try both. You might not be able to tell by the photo, but the chimichanga is enormous.

It’s packed like a burrito – rice, beans, pulled pork (you can choose the protein) and various vegetables. This golden fried chimichanga is the best and closest thing I’ll get to Mexican food north of the border.

I wish the same could be said about the chicken – while I appreciated the nice crispy exterior, the meat was fairly dry.

I DO appreciate their love of Star Wars though!

It’s a bit of a dive, but I believe that’s part of it’s charm.
