The good: Dinner specials are extensive, moderately priced and you get a free refill on your drink (its not on the menu, but you can ask for one free refill on your drink).
The bad: My dish. I ordered baked chicken and shrimp in tomato and cream sauce. While I can overlook the burnt parts of the cheese, I cannot overlook not only the size of the portion (I’m sure it’s about 30-40% smaller than most Chinese cafes) but the way it was prepared.
Exhibit A. One lonely piece of chicken. This piece of chicken was about double the width of my fork and that’s all the chicken in the dish.
Exhibit B. ONE lonely shrimp. ONE. All the stuff underneath the cream sauce was chunks of onions and some mushrooms.
Service seemed to be fine but my dish came last out of the 10 people sitting with me but not in a way where it’s a couple minutes in between dishes. I sat there for a good 10 minutes waiting for my dish. Now, normally I would let it go because I ordered a baked dish which takes longer to make – but a friend ordered baked porkchop and his came out pretty quickly.
Here are some of the other dishes ordered:
Baked Porkchop.
Beef Brisket with Ramen soup.
Spicy Shrimp Soup.
Chicken wing with fries.
Curry seafood rice. Brian ordered this and although very strong in curry taste, had very little else in it. Some shrimp, little pieces of green and red pepper and scallops that were very chewy.
If I had my say, I wouldn’t come back here again, the food is not even worth the free refill. There are other places nearby that are better for food.
Ambiance:
One of the more cleaner dives in Richmond. Don’t use the washroom, it looked like a horror scene out of a movie.
