Castella has opened up shop in Kerrisdale, but at this location they’re focusing on their Cheese Tarts. You’ll find them inside of Boba Boy along 41st Avenue.

Here, there are three different types to try: regular cheese flavour (one firm, one soft) and chocolate (topped with a mini oreo).

Overall, I enjoyed the flavour and taste here at Castella in comparison to Bake49’s Cheese Tarts. They’re a little less intense with the cheese flavour and more on the sweet side. I think the chocolate one is my favourite. While I mention it being more sweet, overall these cheese tarts aren’t super sweet but quite enjoyable. You’ll find that the crust is not made with cookie but made more similarly to an egg-tart which helps the flavour just melt in your mouth.

Each tart is $3.50 or $9 for a box of 3 or $16.50 for a box of 6.
