Food trucks are slowly gaining momentum in the city. With a wide variety to choose from, there’s one that will cater to every palette. Located in Robson Square is one food truck worth mentioning: Eat Chicken Wrap. Owned and operated by husband and wife team Dan and Sammy, their menu selection is inspired by Vancouver’s multiculturalism. Facade - ECW

I was surprised to find out that Dan and Sammy are always working at the truck. Even more surprising is that they stay after the truck closes to debone fresh chickens. Now that’s dedication!

Accompanied by my partner in crime, Liane, I had the chance to savour some of the delicious items on the menu. First up, the Hoisin Chicken Roll:Hoisin Chicken Roll 1

Made with Chinese five spiced chicken, Asian salad, pickled radish, green onions, and hoisin sauce all wrapped in a Chinese pancake, this was as delicious as it looked. The combination of the moist chicken and the pancake made it really filling, while the radish and the Asian salad added a fresh taste that balanced out the oiliness of the wrap.Hoisin Chicken Roll 3Hoisin Chicken Roll 4

I love the use of hoisin sauce as well (although I may be biased because I personally like hoisin sauce) as it adds a nice sweetness to the wrap.

Next up, the Kun Pao Chicken Lettuce Wrap:Kung Pao Chicken 1

The Kung Pao Chicken wrap is made with tender chicken breast, corn, water chestnuts, peanuts, their Kung Pao sauce, sesame chili oil on a bed of iceberg lettuce.

My tolerance for spicy food is very very low, so this may not have been a good idea to begin with. But life is about trying new things, right? So I decided to give it a go.

To some this may have been not spicy at all, but to me it was a tad on the spicier side. However! I did love the combination of textures in the wrap. The tender chicken, the crunchy peanuts, the fresh lettuce, and the hint of sweet corn combined made it quite terrific. I’d like to think of this dish as an Asian version of tacos. If you ate this alongside the Hoisin Chicken Roll, I guarantee you’d be full!

In addition to all this yummy food, Eat Chicken Wrap also offers a secret item on their menu for their customers who are social media savvy:Poutine Al Pastor 1

Ladies and gentlemen, the Poutine Al Pastor.

Out of all the stuff we’ve tried, this was by far my favourite. Liane wasn’t a big fan of this which is totally fine, because that meant I got the lion’s share of it (thanks girl!)

It was a combination of chunky fries, grilled chicken, tomatoes, cilantro, spicy mayo, melted cheese, and pineapple chunks. This was quite the heart dish that I really enjoyed.
