Attending the Vancouver Fall Home Show this year was an absolute treat, bringing together so many creative, green, and family-friendly spaces under one roof. Held at the Vancouver Convention Centre’s West Building, the event was bustling with inspiration for home projects, insights from industry experts, and a warm, welcoming vibe for families and DIY enthusiasts alike.

One of my favourite spots had to be the Got Craft Market. Each item here told a unique story, carefully crafted by hand, making it more than just a market—each purchase felt like owning a little piece of someone’s art and passion. It’s such a refreshing break from mass-produced items, and it truly celebrates the local talent Vancouver is known for. I loved the light wooden sculptures by Jorge Izaza and the art of Boey Art Studios.

The Thrifted Section was another standout. This area was all about second-hand treasures, breathing new life into once-forgotten pieces. From vintage mirrors to reupholstered chairs, it was amazing to see these items transformed into stunning showpieces that add a unique character to any home. The joy of thrifting is never knowing what you’ll find, and the show really captured that thrill.

For families, the Pumpkin Decorating area was a thoughtful addition. Watching kids draw and decorate pumpkins brought smiles to everyone’s faces and reminded me how inclusive the show is. From tiny hands crafting their creations to parents looking for decor inspiration, this area truly had something for everyone.

The Retro Lounge was the perfect spot to relax. Designed with retro inspiration, it offered comfy seating and a laid-back vibe. It was an ideal place to unwind with a drink in hand and take in the nostalgic ambiance, surrounded by decor that seemed to capture the charm of yesteryear.

And of course, I can’t forget the green focus throughout the show. This year, sustainability and green energy took centre stage, with several exhibitors showcasing energy-efficient appliances and eco-friendly products. It was encouraging to see how the home improvement industry is leaning toward sustainable solutions, making it easy to be environmentally conscious without sacrificing style. A notable mention is Jetson, a company focused on bringing an electric future home.

Foodies and home chefs alike flocked to the Culinary Stage, where live cooking demos offered great tips for making the most out of your kitchen. Whether you’re a beginner cook or a seasoned pro, it was inspiring to see professional chefs share their knowledge and offer insider tips for creating memorable meals at home. The stage had chefs like Chef William Lew, Chef Heat Laliberte and more.

The show also made room for some fun with a cute Indoor Golf Booth. Perfect for a quick, interactive break, this booth let visitors play a round of virtual golf, adding a unique twist to the home show experience.

Lastly, the Live Q&A Area was a highlight for anyone with home renovation questions. Experts were on hand to answer questions, share tips, and provide guidance on everything from design ideas to technical repairs. This was a real asset for anyone looking to tackle a home project or even just to get some inspiration.

The Vancouver Fall Home Show brings out the community’s creativity, and offers a range of interactive activities, and provides inspiration for every type of homeowner. Whether you’re considering a big renovation, a small DIY project, or just looking for a fun day out, this event has something for everyone.
