I went out with my coworkers today to Jinya Ramen Bar. Beware, this place is popular and the line up is long! I had Tonkotsu Red Pork Broth, which has pork chashu, kikurage, green onion, Japanese leek, seasoned egg, dried seaweed, red hot chili and spicy bean sprout. I only got my spiciness on a humble 1. Carmen got gyoza and chicken karaage. I liked the karaage for not being too greasy and not too salty. It really felt like comfort food more than something crazy gourmet. I can see the appeal to this place – after sloughing work all day, coming here to relax and eat what feels like home-made food is appealing.
I scored myself some Asahi beer and relaxed, listening to my coworkers talk about ghost stories!
