Win Win Chick-N’s newest location is now open in South Vancouver (kitty corner of Main and South West Marine Drive). That particular location has seen its share of different restaurants throughout the last couple of years.

We went on one of their first soft launch days and they were still putting the finishing touches around the restaurant.

I was mostly curious because it’s been advertised as Filipino chicken. What is Filipino chicken?!

We got 2 of the two piece combos with Filipino-style macaroni and mash potatoes, respectively. We also ordered gravy on the side.

The coating is crunchy, and not too much batter. The chicken itself is juicy and tender. I found the seasoning to be a little on the salty side.

The Filipino-style macaroni is similar to Filipino spaghetti – where the ketchup sauce is sweeter and has bits of hot dogs in it.

The mash potatoes were a little disappointing – they were overstirred and had kind of a paste-like consistency to them.

The gravy was good, a little bit on the runnier side which is good for dipping.

I’d really like to see more Filipino flair at this chicken joint!

Overall, it was a fair experience. The price point is cheaper than Churches and most other fried chicken places in Vancouver. Parking can be difficult (there are a couple spots behind the restaurant), but there are spots down Main street you could park in. I’ll probably go back in a little while once they have a bit more consistency (and to also try the ube cake!).
