I love eating cereal. Sure, it may not be the healthiest option in the morning but I can’t help myself. I grew up eating cereal, so it’s kind of in my psyche to have. Being a little more ‘grown up’, I’ve tried more healthier options. But as much as I love cereal, my lactose tolerance has changed over the years (good old aging!) and I can’t have too much milk.

I’ve never really been a fan of soy milk – so when I came across almond milk, it was a lifesaver! I love almonds and it is definitely the perfect alternative. Not only drinking and enjoying in cereal, but also in baking and cooking! I tried Almond Breeze’s unsweetened original flavour and I really enjoy it. There are some almond milk products I’ve tried that are just chock full of sugar, when it is pretty unnecessary given the delicious taste of almond. Almond Breeze is not too sweet but has enough flavour to be enjoyable and even drinkable. In the shelf version, there are three different flavours: Original, Vanilla and Chocolate that also come in Unsweetened versions which is perfect for me. I find the unsweetened version is perfect for cooking and baking, while the original versions are great for drinking.

I’m trying to get my parents to switch over to almond milk in their coffee as they too are becoming lactose intolerant – I wonder if they’d notice the difference if I did and didn’t tell them?
