Going up to Whistler is always a nice overnight trip. I recently went up with Brian and wanted to stay in the Village, but I have to say I chose a less than ideal time to head up – it was the Snowboard Festival. A lot of the hotels were booked up or really pricey, but I came across Aava Whistler Hotel which was located right within the Village and had a great price.

Amenities wise, Aava is perfect for the adventure/wanderer, they offer complimentary snow show rentals in the winter, fat bike rentals in the fall through to the spring, ski rentals, bike valet services and they even have a complimentary GoPro HD Camera Demo lab.

The room itself is good, spacious enough for two people. All the regular items you would expect to find in your room is there – a desk, tv, etc. There is also a fireplace that was a nice addition and a Keurig.

The Aava Whistler Hotel also likes to keep things green with low-flow toilets and shower fixtures, mattresses made of recycled metals and woods, and motion sensing light fixtures in public areas.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted warmly by the front desk and because they had assigned us the wrong hotel room, they were nice enough to waive our parking costs.

The vibe I got from the people staying at the Aava were definitely the more younger, tourist crowd who came up most likely for the Snowboard Festival and I believe the hotel is geared towards this demographic. However for the two of us, it was a nice option and it wasn’t loud or noisy at all during out stay. I would stay here again!
