Recently, we celebrated my mom’s birthday. There’s a lot of things going on in our family at the moment, so it’s been very difficult for us to find time and a central place we can all meet to sit down and have a family dinner. Luckily, Milestones is one of these places. It’s no secret that my dad is a big fan of Milestones – in fact, he’d gladly take Milestones for lunch any and every day if he could. Their burgers are amazing, so I don’t blame him in that respect.

We started off with an appetizer trio which consisted of calamari steak strips, crispy asian chicken bites and crispy honey phyllo shrimp. It was a good portion for the five of us to share, as we wanted something to nosh on before our meals arrived. The Crispy Asian Chicken bites are my favourite because it’s sweet and spicy.

I ordered the Top Sirloin and ordered it medium rare. It was interesting that our server informed us that the meat might look a little over done when she brought it outside (we were sitting on the patio) but that was indeed made the way we wanted. I had no complaints, my sirloin was medium rare, a little more medium than rare but good enough for me.

Brian ordered the slow roasted AAA Prime Rib, medium rare. It was a huge hunk of meat. Their horseradish here is delicious too, very fresh.

My dad OF COURSE ordered the Milestones Burger – I don’t think he ever orders anything else. He ordered it with the Californian toppings (house-made avocado salsa, tomato and double smoked bacon). He also likes getting his burger with half fries and half salad. I always end up stealing his fries because I love curly fries!

Finally the birthday girl ordered the Top Sirloin with Black Pepper Shrimp. She inhaled it, so I’m assuming it was really good!

If you sign up for Milestones’ newsletter, you get your birthday meal on the house – which my mom did. Thanks Milestones!
